2012 Dance Ministry Update

Ever have a time when you prepare for something only to get close to it's arrival and the bottom falls out?

God is never surprised. He isn't worried or nervous if it doesn't fit into our plan.

We were preparing for the Passover/Easter season with our newest moving message: I Will Rise, by Chris Tomlin.

This dance tells the story redemption through our Messiah. Do you know the song?

"Jesus has overcome. And the grave is overwhelmed. Victory is won. He is risen from the dead. And I will rise when He calls my name. No more sorrow. No more pain. Will rise on eagles wings. Before my God, fall on my knees and rise. I will rise."

Those a just a few verses that bring me so much joy. What our Messiah has done for us, that we might walk in victory.

We chose this song this year because of the work He has done in us as a family and a dance team.

We have truly risen this year on eagles wings and because of that we have fallen on our knees. We rise in victory over sin and death. No longer do we have to live in the shadow of sins shackles. Or in the shadow of broken dreams. He has paid the price and it is finished.

Our ministry performances were scheduled for 5 churches and 6 performances.

During our practice time I managed to injure my foot. Babying it for a week I went back to practice and it moved from feeling better to *extreme pain*!

The diagnosis? Torn knuckle capsule. Should I explain?

I tore the capsule that surrounds the knuckle that is at the base of the big toe and connects it to the foot. My foot is taped and the big toe is taped down so that it heals in the down position and not sticking up. I am in a boot cast for 3-4 weeks....overlapping the week of performance.

Thankful for the time I had with my girls rehearsing this dance and listening over and over to the song. It became our daily afternoon ritual and it was a sweet time of hearing from the Lord on what interpretation to put to the words.

We are looking forward to bringing this song, I Will Rise, to the world in the form of a Moving Message as soon as I heal.

Thanks for keeping up with our ministry. We are grateful for each and everyone of you!

Welcome

Hello and Welcome to 5812 Chavah Street!

We are a moving message ministry bringing the message of Redemption and Restoration to a broken world.

This ministry actually began in 1985....a long time ago!

We, Steve and Sandy, met in 1985 in a church in Florida. Both being involved in the worship arts we made a great pair.  Steve had been playing the drums in the church band and the prison band.  I was in the dance and drama ministry.

Once we were married we began working with the youth in street ministry using drama to draw a crowd and tell the story of the One that gave His all.  After a successful ministry with the church's youth and a group of troubled youth in the local half-way house; we moved to Michigan where we began a year long sabbatical to study and grow in our relationship with the Lord.

We began building relationships and a new ministry emerged. We hosted a home church for the next 18 years. Growing in our understanding of God's ways and growing our family was our main purpose for those 18 years.

In 2009 God began to bring understanding to a promise given to us in 1991.

Isaiah 58:12 says, "You will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated. You will be called Repairer of Broken Walls and Restorer of Streets with Dwellings."

As we looked back over the last 18 years we realized that God had used us to repair the brokenness in people and help them restore their walk with Him. God began to birth within us the desire to take this message of Repair and Restoration to the world with dance, drama and teaching.

Using our talents in the worship arts and teaching them to our children opened doors for our family to begin ministering in churches, schools, and libraries from Michigan to Florida, thus becoming 5812 Chavah Street ~a moving message ministry. Where new LIFE is found again.

Join us on our journey as we move together in the Repair of Broken Walls and the Restoration of Streets with Dwellings.

Keep watch for our upcoming ministry performances in a church near you.
